A McDonald's Toy From The 1990s Could Be Worth $2,225 In 2025
Ever since the McDonald's Happy Meal debuted in 1979, kids have been able to enjoy both a meal and a prize — special toys based on popular trends. This is especially true when the company added a McDonald's branded 110-film camera to their Happy Meal offerings. The compact, easy to use format of Kodak's innovative 110 film made picture taking simpler, and more fun, for amateur photographers. They could carry the camera in a purse or pocket before pulling it out for point-and-shoot photography. In fact, although 110 film usage has been largely overtaken by digital cameras today, fans of the format still use this film.
People who held onto one of these McDonald's cameras could make a lot of money today — especially if they resisted the temptation to use theirs for taking pictures of their friends and vacation trips and instead preserved their popular Happy Meal toy in its packaging. In 2024, one eBay seller even put up a McDonald's 110 film camera in its original box display for $2,225.
Prices can vary for McDonald's toys
Not all McDonald's toys will sell for over $2,000. If looking through a collection of old toys in an attempt to discern which ones might have significant value, it's important to understand the broad range of listing prices. A toy described as a 2001 McBlast Sports Bowling toy was listed for $129.99 on eBay in June 2025. This toy served as a four-part Blast interactive sports set that also included a golfing, soccer, and basketball game. A basketball toy from this collection, featuring Ronald McDonald, was listed on eBay for $149.90, as of June 2025.
Sales prices, of course, are just that: asking prices rather than an expert valuation. For example, one eBay listing — for a set of four Cactus Plant Flea Market Happy Meal toys for adults — was priced at $300,000 in June 2025. Whether a collector would actually pay that amount, though, is up for debate. So, proceed cautiously, not letting excitement take over when making an offer, or posting a listing, for a McDonald's Happy Meal toy.
Plastic Happy Meals toys may become more valuable
Although the scarcity of a toy doesn't automatically guarantee its value (the condition and desirability also matter), all other factors being equal, scarcer collectibles are generally worth more. This includes toys from McDonald's. Since the company has pledged to reduce its inclusion of virgin plastic by 90% in 2025 as part of a larger McDonald's sustainability pledge, plastic Happy Meal toys may become more collectible than ever — and bring higher sales prices.
So it could be time to check attics, garages, and old toyboxes for McDonald's toys that can be worth plenty of cash today. These can include McNugget Buddies that feature characters in a range of wacky, exchangeable costumes, or valuable Happy Meal toys like Changeables (toys that could be transformed into items on McDonald's menus). Similarly, keep an eye out for characters from McDonaldland (like Ronald McDonald, the Hamburglar, and Mayor McCheese), and even Boo Buckets (that could be used to collect candy at Halloween).
