The Net Worth Of Donald Trump's Presidential Cabinet Will Make You Pause

Donald Trump's 2024 Presidential Cabinet has gone down in the history books as the richest ever in the country, even surpassing his previous Cabinet in 2019, per a recent estimate by Forbes. Members of Trump's Cabinet, who make up the top 0.0001% of the nation in terms of net worth, are worth more than $7.5 billion. That's hundreds of times the combined wealth of Joe Biden's Cabinet, which sat at around $110 million. Trump's team of advisors also includes multiple members who are individually worth more than $1 billion.

The Cabinet is made up of heavyweights from several industries — from Wall Street titans like Howard Lutnick, to ex-professional wrestling CEO Linda McMahon, to high-profile media personalities like Pete Hegseth. Other noteworthy mentions on the rich list include the likes of Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent, Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum, and Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy — all of whom are sitting atop millions of dollars of assets.

Howard Lutnick, one of Trump's closest affiliates in the Cabinet and the Head of the Department of Commerce, may well be the richest of them all — save for Donald Trump himself. Lutnick has been the CEO of several financial services firms in the past (including Cantor Fitzgerald), which boast of more than 10,000 employees across the globe. With an estimated net worth of $3.4 billion, Lutnick is also among the names at the forefront of financing Trump's 90,000-square-foot ballroom in the White House.

Other members of the Cabinet holding sizable assets

Apart from Lutnick, the other notable billionaire is Linda McMahon. In addition to heading the Department of Education, she contributes another $3.4 billion to the Cabinet's wealth, sharing her net worth with her estranged husband, Vincent McMahon. Meanwhile, Interior Secretary and former Governor of North Dakota Doug Burgum is also sitting at somewhere around $1.1 billion.

Interestingly, several members of Trump's Cabinet also boast of significant crypto holdings. Sean Duffy, for instance, is clearly not heeding Bill Gates' warning about investing in cryptocurrency. He holds more than $1 million in Bitcoin, per a February 2025 report by Nasdaq. Though not as sizable, Director of National Intelligence and fellow millionaire Tulsi Gabbard also holds tens of thousands of dollars worth of Bitcoin and other crypto varieties. Furthermore, Scott Bessent is a hedge fund manager worth hundreds of millions. Despite his nomination to the Cabinet being received positively by Wall Street, he still had to divest millions in assets and give up his $1 million annual income from Key Square Capital to avoid conflict with his new position heading the treasury.

The wealth of several members of Trump's Cabinet also stem from strong media roles in the past. This includes Secretary of the Department of Defense, Pete Hegseth, who has been able to amass millions from his stint as a Fox News host in just a few years. In addition to hosting, Hegseth also made nearly $1 million from speaking events.
