A Luxury Watch With A Desirable Blue Color Has Exceptional Resale Value In 2025

Rolex watches tend to be worth an enormous amount of money, and many of them are growing in value. In the span of 15 years, the average price of a Rolex increased by 550%, according to a recent report from luxury wristwatch website Bob's Watches. So it's hardly any wonder that the average annual income of a Rolex watch owner usually exceeds $100,000.

But you do not always have to wait 15 years for the value of a Rolex to suddenly spike upward. Indeed, a relaunched version of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual that came out in 2020 was just named by e-commerce blog TheRealReal as one of the "five watches with the biggest resale value." And it turns out Oyster Perpetuals with a blue turquoise dial, referred to as the Tiffany Blue, are the most highly prized. So much so that Tiffany Blue Oyster Perpetuals that previously retailed for between $5,800 and $6,200 are now valued anywhere from $15,000 to well over $30,000 on the resale market.

A new take on an old Rolex brand

In 1926, Rolex came out with the world's first waterproof wristwatch. Called the Rolex Oyster, it would serve as the basis for several other lines of Rolexes, including deep-sea diving wristwatches such as the Double Red Sea-Dweller, which is a vintage timepiece that could be worth $75,000 in 2025.

In 1931, Rolex came out with the Oyster Perpetual, which was not only waterproof but also the first automatic self-winding watch. Over the decades, the model was redesigned several times. In 2020, a new Oyster Perpetual was introduced that utilized the Caliber 3230, a new mechanical automatic movement that provided 70 hours of reserve power and greater resistance to magnetic fields.

And then there were the colors, which included coral red, yellow, green, pink, and the turquoise-like Tiffany Blue. According to TheRealReal, Rolex fans found the Tiffany Blue dial really exciting because its shade was like the Glacier Blue dial found on higher-end platinum Rolex watches.

Goodbye Tiffany Blue, hello Celebration

By 2023, Rolex opted to stop making more red and yellow dials for watches of all sizes, and the Tiffany Blue for the 41 mm. As a result, the 41 mm Tiffany ballooned in price to as much as $60,000 in 2023, luxury watch website Everest reported. The 36mm Tiffany Blues continue to sell quickly as well, with one such watch selling on TheRealReal for nearly $14,000.

But the turquoise blue color did not go completely extinct from the larger 41 mm watches. In 2023, Rolex launched the Oyster Perpetual Celebration, which featured the same bright colors presented in the 2020 models, with turquoise blue used as the background. Because no one is sure how much longer Rolex will produce the new bubbly background, collectors are pouncing on the Celebration as well. And this is influencing the price. When they were unveiled in 2023, prices ranged roughly between $6,000 and $8,000, depending on size and style. As of August 2025, 41 mm Oyster Perpetuals with the Celebration dial were listed on Chrono24 for at least $20,000.
